Senior Devops Engineer

We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our UK engineering team and play a key role in modernizing our engineering platform and software delivery processes. As the dedicated Platform Engineer supporting our UK product, you'll work closely with software engineers to build and improve our AWS cloud platform, optimize CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and enhance the overall developer experience..

This is more than an operational support role. You'll take ownership of platform improvements, lead automation initiatives, improve release management, and help modernize a legacy application into a scalable, cloud-native AWS environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the engineering platform supporting our UK product.
• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable AWS infrastructure.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
• Improve release management processes through automation, reducing deployment time and manual effort.
• Partner closely with software engineers to improve developer workflows and delivery practices.
• Support the modernization of legacy applications into cloud-native AWS services.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot production issues, and implement long-term improvements.
• Champion security, reliability, and operational best practices across the platform.
• Collaborate with UK and US engineering teams to deliver resilient, scalable cloud solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Proven experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
• Experience automating infrastructure and deployments using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar).
• Strong Linux administration experience with the ability to support Windows-based development environments.
• Experience improving release management and deployment automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in cloud environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience partnering directly with software engineering teams.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, recommend improvements, and take ownership of solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, Systems Manager (SSM), and AppStream.
• Familiarity with .NET/C# development environments.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications to cloud-native architectures.
• Experience supporting security, compliance, and vulnerability remediation initiatives.
