Repair Technician

Location: Cambridge (CB25) Duration: Permanent Hours: 8am until 4:30pm (Monday to Friday) Salary: £27,000 to £35,000 dependent on experience Job Reference: 36308 Polytec are looking for a Repair Technician for our client based just north of Cambridge. You may be required to visit customer premises to upgrade hardware. Due to the nature of the services delivered by the team, this role requires candidates to be UK SC cleared. Responsibilities: * Diagnosis and confirmation of Customer reported faults using manual and automated jigs and fixtures * Disassembly and assembly of products and replacement of key components * Inspection of repair work carried out * Use of software tools required for the processing and repair of products * Hardware modifications as part of internal/customer projects * Ensure product turnaround times are met * Training of Internal/External staff Requirements: Essential - * Previous experience working in a repair or service environment, following defined procedures and work instructions * Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly and disassembly of products * Ability to carry out PCB-level soldering and use standard test equipment and service tools * Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow technical instructions accurately * Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment * Good communication and interpersonal skills * Competent in using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel Desirable- * Previous experience in an electronics manufacturing environment * Experience using BGA rework equipment/machines * Awareness of Health and Safety procedures within a technical or manufacturing environment * IPC inspection certification * Experience using ERP systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics AX/365 Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below!
