This role sits within a major international banking group with a strong presence across EMEA, supporting its Corporate and Investment Banking division headquartered in the City of London. The organisation provides commercial and investment banking services to corporate, institutional, and municipal clients - combining global reach with deep sector expertise.

The Innovation Team

The Innovation Team, part of OPPD - ITSD Architecture & Engineering, acts as an in-house innovation lab. The team challenges existing processes and explores emerging technologies to deliver business value across Capital Markets and Corporate Banking.

You'll join a collaborative group that works closely with business and technology stakeholders to identify, experiment with, and scale cutting-edge AI and automation solutions.

The Role

We are looking for a highly capable and adaptable AI Business Analyst to help shape and deliver the organisation's next generation of AI and automation initiatives. You'll support the design, development, and governance of Generative AI solutions and intelligent automation across the bank.

This hybrid role blends business analysis, Agile delivery, AI solution design, and a strong awareness of regulatory and risk considerations. Working in a fast-paced innovation environment, you'll help take ideas from initial concept and PoC all the way toward pilot and production.

Key Responsibilities

AI Use Case Discovery & Analysis

• Identify high-impact AI/GenAI opportunities across Front Office, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and other business units.
• Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, define epics and user stories, and manage backlogs using Jira or Azure DevOps.

Agile Delivery & Scrum Collaboration

• Act as an embedded BA within Agile squads, supporting backlog prioritisation, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups and sprint reviews.
• Track delivery progress and ensure alignment with business objectives and compliance expectations.

AI Application Design & UX

• Collaborate with designers and engineers on wireframes, prototypes, and user journeys.
• Apply UX best practices for AI interfaces, ensuring usability, trust, and interpretability.
• Lead co-design workshops to validate early assumptions.

Cybersecurity, Risk & Regulatory Alignment

• Embed secure-by-design and privacy-by-design principles in AI solutions.
• Ensure alignment with the EU AI Act, FCA/PRA guidance, and internal risk frameworks.
• Support documentation and audit trails for regulatory and internal governance.

Prototyping & PoC Execution

• Drive AI PoCs, pilots, and innovation sprints.
• Rapidly test hypotheses based on user feedback, technical feasibility, and risk considerations.
• Help transition successful prototypes into production environments.

Innovation & Research

• Stay current on GenAI tools (Azure OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, etc.) and emerging AI governance standards.
• Educate stakeholders on opportunities, risks, and limitations of new AI capabilities.
• Contribute to internal working groups focused on responsible AI, governance, and regulation.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, ideally within AI or digital transformation.
• Knowledge of banking domains (Front Office, KYC, Credit, Settlements, Risk, etc.).
• Hands-on experience in Agile delivery using Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
• Demonstrated experience delivering AI/GenAI PoCs or pilots.
• Familiarity with UX principles and tools such as Figma or Balsamiq.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data protection, and risk frameworks.
• Awareness of AI regulations including the EU AI Act and FCA guidance.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and workshop facilitation skills.
