My client is a British multinational groceries and general merchandise retailer headquartered in Welwyn Garden City. Founded in 1919, their core purpose is to serve their customers, communities and planet a little better every day meaning they will always keep customers at the heart of what they do, while also reflecting their responsibilities to the communities they serve and to society more broadly.
They are looking for a Financial Systems Lead to join their Insurance and Money Services team on a 3 month contract. Based at their Edinburgh offices you will be hybrid working being in the office 2 days a week, with the remainder of time working from home, standard office hours Monday to Friday.
You will support and maintain the functional operation of Financial Systems, including the Oracle E-Business suite, ePBCS and associated interfaces on a daily basis. You will be the first point of contact for all queries or issues related to Financial Systems' processes and controls, implementing improvements and changes in an efficient and controlled manner.
What you'll be doing
- Support the implementation of financial systems process changes and enhancements; ensure all changes are effectively implemented.
- Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures,
- Day to day systems support, including access management and general ledger maintenance.
- Provide advice, and assistance to users to resolve queries and ensure the applications capabilities are well understood by the business
- Ensure the organization is not exposed to undue risks by using risk management systems to manage and mitigate risk.
- Identify and collaborate with stakeholders, ensuring that their requirements are understood and that their concerns and issues are addressed.
Experience and Skills
- Strong Analytical and Problem Solving skills
- Strong Communication Skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong Understanding of Finance Processes and Systems and/or experience in working in a Finance Systems role.
- Experience with Oracle Financial Systems would be an advantage
- Background in Accountancy
