We're looking for a confident, proactive Lead Finance Analyst to support a large technology and change portfolio within a highly regulated organisation. With several recent departures in the team, this is a role where you'll quickly become relied upon, making an immediate and meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly forecasting and reconciliation of budgets, forecasts, timesheets, and invoices.
  • Analyse and challenge Opex vs Capex treatment to ensure correct classification of spend.
  • Work with Agile delivery teams to validate story/feature charging.
  • Engage with project managers and resource owners to ensure timely updates and accurate cost allocation.
  • Support the rollout of new monthly processes for resource allocation and utilisation checks.
  • Provide clear financial insights, flag emerging risks, and maintain strong communication with the portfolio lead.
  • Confidently challenge and influence stakeholders, resolving issues directly without frequent escalation.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong Excel capability (advanced formulas, modelling, data manipulation).
  • Background in project finance, portfolio/change delivery, or PMO-related financials.
  • Sound understanding of Capex/Opex, cost structures, resource charging, and project accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to hold stakeholders to account and maintain momentum.
  • Experience working within large, structured, regulated organisations (e.g., utilities, banking, insurance, government).
  • Familiarity with Fieldglass, SAP Finance, or similar invoicing/timesheet systems.
  • Previous experience supporting Agile delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of invoice flows, timesheet reconciliation, and cost allocation processes.
