Product Manager job opportunity * Team: Performance & Planning* Reporting to: Performance & Planning Manager* Location Remote (occasional travel to Bristol, approx. once per month/quarter)* Contract: 6 months (likely extension)Role SummaryWe are seeking a highly capable Product Manager to lead the Digital System Operator (DSO) product area within NGED IT's Performance & Planning team. NGED manages the energy infrastructure, and the DSO plays a critical role in leveraging the network, stabilising it, and ensuring smart and efficient usage of electricity. This includes future planning of the energy network to meet evolving demands. The Product Manager will work closely with two Product Owners (focused on AWS cloud-based solutions) and collaborate with the IT+D team to ensure delivery across both cloud and on-premises systems. This role does not include direct line management but requires strong coordination and prioritisation skills to guide delivery and maximise business value.Key Responsibilities· Lead the DSO product area, working closely with two Product Owners to ensure delivery of high-value initiatives.· Develop and maintain a high-level product roadmap aligned with long-term business strategy.· Collaborate with senior stakeholders to prioritise features and initiatives that deliver maximum business value.· Ensure alignment between product development and business objectives.· Support delivery teams by removing blockers and ensuring clarity of vision and priorities.· Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.· Ensure consistent application of agile and project management best practices.· Oversee DSO operations, including strategic planning and future network development.· Manage finances and budgets related to the DSO product area.· Handle office space requests and coordinate installations of new tools.· Ensure deployment of tools and systems to the correct business areas in collaboration with IT+D.· Oversee both cloud-based (AWS) and on-premises systems as part of the product delivery landscape.Skills & Experience**Essential: **· Proven experience as a Product Manager or Senior Project Manager in a complex IT environment.· Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.· Ability to translate business strategy into actionable product plans.· Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.· Experience working in agile environments.**Desirable: **· Experience working alongside or guiding Product Owners.· Familiarity with utility or energy sector (not essential).· Technical data experience is not required, but a strong grasp of product delivery is essential.Pontoon is an employment consultancy.
