Duration: 12 Months (Possibility for extension)

Location: Chester/Hybrid (3 days per week on site)

Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella Day Rate is available for suitable candidates

Role Overview

As a Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in driving product value and aligning it with stakeholder needs. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders and the Product Manager within a scaled Agile framework to ensure product vision and roadmap alignment. Your expertise will guide the development team in defining and prioritizing epics and stories in the product backlog, ensuring timely delivery of high-value features.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximize Product Value: Understand and articulate the vision and roadmap for the product to both stakeholders and the development team.
  • Backlog Management: Define, prioritize, and review epics and stories, making on-the-spot decisions regarding scope and requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure their needs are met effectively.
  • Project Oversight: May oversee project budgets and collaborate with external programmers for software application delivery.
  • Value Optimization: Partner with the development team to leverage technology for maximum value, grounded in a solid understanding of business needs.
  • Accountability: Maintain routine accountability for the delivery of planned epics and stories, working under minimal supervision.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to automation, causal analysis, and the development of shared solutions.

Skills & Experience:

  • A strong background in a Product Owner role or equivalent, preferably within the financial domain.
  • Strong experience in Java/J2EE, Web Services, SQL PL/SQL (Oracle), XML, JSON, and integration technologies (Mule ESB IDE or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with SDLC (Waterfall/Agile) and operating in a highly Agile continuous integration and continuous deployment environment.
  • Understanding of Test-Driven Development and Unit Testing (Cucumber/Litmus, JUnit).
