**Python Developer** (Contract)

Duration: 12 Months (Possibility for extension)

Location: London/Hybrid (3 days per week on site)

Rate: A highly competitive Umbrella Day Rate is available for suitable candidates

Role Profile

As a Python Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing complex server-side components that support our core engineering streams. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand complex requirements, prioritize tasks, and maintain momentum in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise will help unblock current bandwidth constraints and ensure the successful delivery of our project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality, scalable server-side components using Python (Java is a plus).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Embrace Agile and Lean software development practices to enhance project delivery.
  • Engage with demanding stakeholders, articulating problems and solutions clearly and concisely.
  • Leverage your knowledge of Bank of America Quartz technology stack and derivatives risk domain to inform your development work.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in financial services, particularly in derivatives risk systems, and apply this knowledge to your projects.

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrable Python development experience, with optional proficiency in Java.
  • Proven experience in financial services, specifically within markets related to front office derivatives risk systems or pretrade/origination/post-trade management systems.
  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Lean software development practices and tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions.
  • Knowledge of the Bank of America Quartz technology stack is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with pricing and risk management of derivative products, including Greeks and Scenarios.
  • In-depth knowledge of equity derivatives, including futures, options, and convertibles.
