About the RoleNational Grid is looking for an experienced Senior People Analytics Analyst to join the People Data & Analytics team within People Operations on a 3-month contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to use advanced analytics to help shape workforce decisions across one of the UK's largest infrastructure organisations. Working closely with HR professionals, business leaders and senior stakeholders, you will transform workforce data into meaningful insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
The role is primarily remote, with travel to our Warwick office approximately once per month.
What You'll Be DoingYou'll be responsible for delivering high-quality people analytics and workforce insight across a range of HR topics, including:
- Headcount and workforce composition
- Retention and attrition
- Reward and pay analysis
- Workforce trends and organisational insights
- Ad hoc people analytics to support business priorities
You'll use SQL, Power BI and Excel-based HR data extracts to interrogate data, identify trends and patterns, and communicate findings through engaging dashboards, visualisations and data storytelling.
You'll also:
- Partner with senior leaders, HR teams and business stakeholders to understand analytical requirements.
- Deliver advanced analytics including trend analysis, forecasting, statistical techniques and data modelling where appropriate.
- Translate complex workforce data into clear, actionable recommendations that support business decision-making.
- Develop and enhance Power BI reporting and dashboards to improve insight and self-service reporting.
- Contribute to the automation and continuous improvement of People Analytics products and reporting.
- Ensure the highest standards of data quality, governance and confidentiality when working with sensitive people data.
We're looking for an experienced People Analytics professional who can quickly add value in a fast-paced environment.
You'll have:
- Demonstrable experience working within People Analytics, HR Analytics or Workforce Analytics.
- Strong experience analysing workforce data, including metrics such as headcount, retention, attrition, reward or organisational trends.
- Advanced SQL skills with the ability to query and analyse complex datasets.
- Advanced Power BI skills, including dashboard development and data visualisation.
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with HR data extracts.
- Experience applying analytical techniques such as trend analysis, forecasting and statistical analysis.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and experience handling confidential people data.
- Experience working with HR data originating from SAP HR/HCM or similar HR systems.
- Knowledge of SAP Datasphere or other enterprise data platforms.
- Experience supporting digital reporting and analytics transformation initiatives.
