Job Title: Software Engineer
Location: Remote, (Requirement to travel to Plymouth for Quarterly Planning)
Remuneration: Up to £600 per day
Contract Details: Fixed Term Contract (6 months)
Working Pattern: Full Time

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy scalable, high-performance software that aligns with our long-term goals.
  • Monitor, analyse, and enhance the performance of large-scale distributed software platforms for continuous uptime.
  • Develop automation solutions for configuration management and system provisioning, reducing manual interventions.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practises.
  • Lead the resolution of platform outages, conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with QA engineering, DevOps, and IT operations to integrate solutions and troubleshoot issues.
  • analyse current system capacities and plan for future growth to handle increased loads.

Knowledge, Experience, and Technical Know-How:

  • Strong knowledge of AWS cloud platforms and containerisation technologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
  • Proficient in scripting/programming languages in Python.
  • Understanding and proficiency in Developing APIs
  • Expertise in security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO27001, GDPR).
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and apply timely solutions.
  • Proficient with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address challenges creatively.
  • Experience in a software engineering role, focusing on managing and scaling systems in cloud or hybrid environments.
