M&A Group Performance Director – Rapidly Expanding Tech Services – UK – £Competitive + Equity
M&A Group Performance Director – Rapidly Expanding Tech Services – UK, Nationwide – £Competitive + Equity
Our client is an award-winning UK Technology Services company scaling rapidly through an active acquisition strategy. With a strong M&A pipeline and ambitious plans for further expansion, the business is now seeking an experienced Group Performance Director to ensure their acquisitions integrate successfully, and real value is delivered consistently as the group continues to grow.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work closely with the CFO, COO, Head of M&A and Regional Managing Directors to deliver a single critical focus - to make sure acquisitions work. Key to your success will be ensuring performance post-deal is stabilised, EBITDA and cashflow is protected, founders remain aligned, and surprises are minimised for lenders and investors. The ideal candidate will have “been there before” - having guided similar high-growth businesses through multiple acquisitions – and be able to lead through experience, bringing calm insight and clear credibility to this dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The role:
- Act as a key member of the Executive Team, accountable for ensuring post-acquisition integrations deliver expected value, with a clear focus on outcomes rather than process
- Provide early identification of integration risk, underperformance or misalignment, intervening through the Executive Team to protect customers, people, EBITDA and cashflow
- Track acquired business performance against acquisition models, identifying margin leakage, earnings volatility or execution risk before issues escalate
- Improve the predictability and quality of Group earnings, reducing surprises for lenders and equity stakeholders and strengthening the overall investment narrative
- Serve as a senior, credible point of contact for vendors and founders post-completion, managing earn-out dynamics, maintaining alignment and minimising disruption
- Support smooth transitions where founders remain in the business, balancing commercial discipline with relationship management
- Contribute selective judgement pre-completion by participating in key vendor discussions, drawing on experience from multiple prior acquisitions to assess behavioural, cultural and integration risk
- Support stability and cohesion as the Group scales rapidly, helping leadership teams navigate integration change without fragmentation across regions or cultures
Skills and experience required:
- Proven senior leadership experience, ideally as a former CFO, Managing Director or equivalent within a multi-site technology group
- Extensive experience operating in acquisition-led growth environments, with exposure to high-volume or repeat M&A
- Strong background in PE-backed, lender-heavy or investor-driven businesses, with a clear understanding of value creation and downside risk
- Demonstrated ability to identify integration and performance risks early and influence outcomes through judgement rather than authority
- Commercially astute, calm under pressure and highly credible with founders, vendors, lenders and senior executives
- Experience improving earnings quality, performance predictability and investor confidence during periods of rapid growth
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively at Executive level
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, bringing structure, discipline and perspective without slowing momentum
