This is an exciting opportunity to join our transformation journey as a Senior Information Analyst working within our Better Together transformation portfolio. We are seeking two highly skilled individuals to play a key role in leading high level analytical work within Powys Teaching Health Board producing high quality data products, insights and performance intelligence across the Welsh and English health care system in order to deliver new transformational models of care for Powys residents as part of our Better Together journey, with a focus on adult Physical and Mental Health Community Services. A background in NHS information systems and analysis, performance management and strong understanding of NHS datasets and performance standards would therefore be required. This work be key to the delivery of our Health & Care strategy through the development of a Clinical Services Plan for Powys.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will require a level of freedom to act, to enable agile decision making and actions. This role will operate in a complex environment, working across health, social care and multiagency organisations to ensure the implementation of national and local policy across directorates. The post holder will work closely with operational and corporate services and will be responsible for analysis of detailed, complex datasets and be able to undertake research in relation to national and local evidence-based practice to make judgements on how to effectively deliver the new model of care at both a strategic and operational level.
We would particularly welcome applications from Welsh speakers, but even if you don't speak any Welsh or want to develop your skills, don't worry: the health board will support you with training.

Job responsibilities
The role will involve working with clinicians, managers, staff, professionals, partners, and other key stakeholders across health, social care, and multi-agencies to deliver a new model of care.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
Lead complex analytical programmes that support strategic decision making and service improvement across the organisation.
Act as senior specialist in data analytics, modelling and interpretation, producing high quality insights for the Executive Team, senior clinical and non-clinical leaders and external partners.
Provide information and data analytical input to support the development of new models of care, service plans, specifications and pathways.
Provide expert leadership in the development of analytical products, dashboards and frameworks, ensuring the organisation uses data effectively to improve outcomes, productivity and quality of care.
Leading on specific projects and plans as required to develop and deliver new models of care, service plans, specifications and pathways.
Significant amount of engagement and communication messaging.
The post holder will be at the forefront of a dynamic and high-profile programme, making a significant contribution to all facets of health service technical planning.

Qualifications and Knowledge
- Educated to degree level or equivalent level of knowledge and experience in the field of analytics and performance management.
- Evidence of continuous professional development at senior management level and record of development.
- Excellent knowledge of NHS services and information systems.
- Knowledge of performance management across multiple complex commissioning pathways spanning and involving multiple organisational and geographical boundaries.
Experience
- Significant experience in an information analysis role.
- Experience of performance management frameworks and processes in a large complex organisation.
- Strong understanding of NHS datasets, performance standards and national reporting.
- Ability to lead complex analytical projects and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage a complex workload under pressure and delegate in order to meet deadlines.
Skills and Attributes
- Proven work record of consistently achieving high standards and delivering objectives and priorities.
- High level analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions from combinations of qualitative and quantitative information sources and present in a concise manner.
- Ability to deal with contentious data and information, able to weigh up conflicting perspectives and make sound judgements.
- Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively using excellent communication skills, including strong report writing and presentation skills.
