The Opportunity: Leading a "Step Change" in Maritime Innovation
Are you a visionary Architect ready to define the future of a global pioneer in maritime technology? Our client is at the forefront of the industry, leveraging robotics, AI, and data to transform maritime operations with a focus on minimal environmental impact. Following a period of rapid growth through acquisition, the organisation is now seeking a strategic Enterprise Solutions Architect to lead a fundamental "step change" in their business systems functionality, automation, and user experience.
The Mission: From Fragmentation to a Cohesive Blueprint
In this high-impact, 6-month contract, you will move well beyond "like-for-like" technology replacements. Your primary objective is to consolidate a fragmented technology landscape into a cohesive, optimised "to-be" blueprint that streamlines global operations and enhances productivity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Blueprinting: Defining the architectural roadmap for core business systems and delivering a comprehensive data migration plan for execution.
- Application Optimization: Reviewing and optimising a global application stack, specifically focusing on high-ticket platforms like Workday (HRM) and Salesforce (CRM), while designing a replacement for a custom-built ERP system.
- Stakeholder Navigation: Gaining genuine buy-in across a diverse landscape, from data-driven executive leadership to a highly independent, autonomous tech team.
The Person: Technical Credibility Meets Strategic Acumen
We are looking for a senior architect who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to "sell the vision" to both technical and non-technical audiences. You should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, acquisition-driven environment where fact-based decision-making is paramount.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 10+ years of recent, significant experience as a Solutions or Enterprise Architect within large-scale, complex enterprises.
- Mandatory, deep familiarity with the Microsoft Azure and M365 ecosystems.
- Proven track record in optimising enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, HRM) rather than purely infrastructure-focused roles.
- Experience with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF to drive structured decision-making.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to navigate complex organisational cultures and build trust across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Able to start fairly promptly.
- Experience working in either Maritime, Oil & Gas, Robotic Engineering, Aerospace & Defence, Engineering sectors.
Why This Role?
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the technology foundations of one of the world’s most innovative technology businesses. You will work closely with senior leadership to bring the "new world of work" to life, creating a scalable and secure future state that supports continued global evolution.
