The Role
The company is urgently seeking a highly capable Interim CFO to:
- Take immediate ownership of the finance function
- Lead business planning for a major product release
- Build scalable financial models and guide commercial strategy
- Oversee R&D tax credit claims and manage HMRC interactions
- Optimise and stabilise financial operations (Xero)
- Recruit and build an in-house finance team
- Support complex and unconventional commercial projects, from acquisitions to property-related transactions
This mandate goes far beyond traditional finance leadership—requiring exceptional commercial judgement, operational focus, and comfort navigating complexity at speed.
Unique Requirement: Strong Family-Office / HNWI Experience
The company is ultimately owned through a trust structure and funded by high-net-worth sources.
Therefore, the successful candidate must have:
- Significant experience operating within a family office or HNWI environment
- Proven ability to manage confidential, sensitive, high-trust financial relationships
- The judgement, discretion, and commercial maturity needed to work closely with successful founders and private stakeholders
- A track record of navigating trusts, private ownership structures, and bespoke investment or acquisition opportunities
What You'll Handle
- High-level stakeholder management with private investors and trust structures
- Evaluation and execution of "non-standard" commercial projects (e.g., property acquisitions, unique asset evaluations, alternative investment opportunities)
- Detailed financial oversight for both corporate and owner-related initiatives
- Rapid problem-solving and hands-on involvement in day-to-day operations
About You
- Big Four background or equivalent "super-sharp" technical grounding
- Not purely corporate—comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments
- Confident, commercially astute, and able to operate independently
- Experience with acquisitions, particularly property and asset deals
- Manufacturing knowledge helpful but not required
