A major UK organisation is delivering a large-scale digital transformation programme and needs an experienced Programme Office / PMO Governance Manager to bring structure, clarity, and control across a complex portfolio.
This is a hands-on role with real influence — setting up governance and then running it.
What you’ll do
- Review current programme governance and ways of working
- Design and embed clear, consistent PMO standards, including:
- Programme & project planning
- Resource allocation and utilisation tracking
- Reporting and management information
- Budget control
- Risk, issue & dependency management (single RAID log)
- Own and run governance forums:
- Status reviews
- RAID and resourcing reviews
- Maintain the integrated programme plan and run regular project health checks
- Produce board-level packs and senior stakeholder updates
- Help define programme benefits and track them through to realisation
- Create practical documentation that embeds long-term best practice

- Strong programme & project management expertise (theory + practice)
- End-to-end programme lifecycle experience
- Proven track record running governance for large, complex transformation programmes
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and delivery teams
- The ability to bring order, pace, and momentum to busy environments
