The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced commercial lawyer to join a highly regarded in-house legal team at a pivotal time in the organisation's growth and transformation journey.

Reporting directly to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, this is a broad, visible and strategically important role that sits at the heart of the business.

You'll work across major commercial agreements, technology contracts, procurement activity, data governance, strategic projects and regulatory matters, partnering with senior stakeholders to help shape business decisions and manage risk in a practical and commercially focused way.

This is not a narrow specialist role.

It's an opportunity to become a trusted advisor across the organisation, influencing key projects, supporting business-critical initiatives and helping deliver meaningful outcomes in a fast-moving and collaborative environment.

If you enjoy variety, autonomy and being embedded within the business rather than sitting on the sidelines, this role offers a genuinely rewarding in-house career opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

You'll provide commercially focused legal support across a wide range of matters, including:

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial agreements

Advising on technology, SaaS, cloud and supplier contracts

Supporting major procurement exercises and strategic projects

Acting as legal representative on cross-functional programmes and project boards

Advising on GDPR, data protection and wider data governance matters

Reviewing data-sharing arrangements and assessing associated legal risks

Advising stakeholders on legal and commercial risk using a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach

Supporting regulatory, consumer law and competition-related matters

Providing legal guidance on complaints, operational issues and business initiatives

Developing legal templates, guidance materials and best-practice frameworks

Building strong relationships with stakeholders across procurement, operations, technology and commercial functions

About You

We're keen to speak with qualified solicitors who enjoy operating within a broad, commercially focused environment and who can confidently balance legal risk with business objectives.

You are likely to bring:

✔ Significant post-qualified experience gained in-house and/or within private practice

✔ Strong commercial contracts expertise
