Senior Project Manager – Workday (HCM) Implementation
Location: Hybrid (with regular travel to Dorset)
Salary: £49,492 to £59,226 per annum.
Contract: Fixed-term contract for 2 years.
About the Role
Our client is embarking on an exciting digital transformation journey, and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the implementation of Workday (HCM) .
As the Senior Project Manager, you’ll lead the end-to-end delivery of the new HCM platform, replacing the legacy system. This is a unique opportunity to join the project from day 1 , you’ll manage the full lifecycle - from planning and procurement through to delivery, go-live, and adoption.
Working across departments and with external partners, you’ll bring structure, clarity, and leadership to ensure the project delivers meaningful results. Your work will directly enable their people to work more effectively and feel more connected to the shared purpose.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the successful implementation of Workday (HCM) across the organisation.
- Oversee all project stages - from scoping and planning to delivery and benefits realisation.
- Manage budgets, timelines, governance, and quality to ensure successful delivery.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external implementation partners.
- Support data migration, systems integration, and change management to drive adoption.
- Build trusted relationships across HR, IT, Finance, and Operations teams.
- Track and report on project progress, risks, and benefits.
- Ensure a smooth transition to business-as-usual operations.
About You
You’ll be a confident and collaborative Project Manager who thrives in a purpose-led environment. You combine technical delivery skills with empathy, communication, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience delivering Workday HCM
- A strong background in technology-enabled change and large-scale system replacement projects.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in non-profit or public sector.
- Experience managing risk, governance, and budgets in a multi-project environment.
- Understanding of systems integration, data migration, and enterprise processes .
- Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, APM, or PMP , or equivalent practical experience.
