IT Database and Web Platform Engineer - Birmingham - Permanent
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT Database and Web Platform Engineer to join a leading global law firm within their Information Technology team.
This role sits within the Information Infrastructure team, responsible for the design, development, support, and life cycle management of the firm's global infrastructure platforms including SQL Server, SharePoint, SSO, Azure Cloud Services, and web application infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 3rd line support across a range of critical legal and business systems.
- Managing and optimising global SQL, web, SharePoint, SSO, and Azure environments.
- Supporting platform upgrades, deployments, migrations, and automation initiatives.
- Delivering deep-dive technical troubleshooting and infrastructure improvements.
- Collaborating with internal teams and vendors to enhance global service delivery.
Key skills and experience required:
- Strong administration experience across SQL Server, SharePoint, Web Infrastructure, and SSO.
- Experience with SQL high availability technologies including Always-On, Mirroring, Replication, Log Shipping, and Clustering.
- Experience managing web farm infrastructure and load balancing technologies.
- Azure Cloud and Azure PaaS experience highly desirable.
- Ability to perform database, SQL Server, and web application migrations.
- Strong PowerShell Scripting and automation skills.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
