Infrastructure & Cloud Architect - Nutanix, Azure, AWS, Hybrid Infrastructure

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Cloud Architect to define the technical direction for a large-scale, global enterprise infrastructure environment.

This is a senior, hands-on architecture position with responsibility for developing standards, reference architectures and long-term technology roadmaps across cloud, virtualization, storage, server operating systems and business continuity. You will also remain close to delivery, taking solutions from architectural design through engineering and production deployment.

Key responsibilities:

• Define infrastructure and cloud strategies, standards, reference architectures and technology roadmaps.
• Architect, engineer and deploy enterprise-scale solutions across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments.
• Produce detailed architectural designs covering capacity, resilience, security, performance, monitoring and future growth.
• Lead technical projects and workstreams across the wider technology function.
• Evaluate technologies and vendors against technical, security and commercial requirements.
• Act as the senior subject-matter expert and internal consultant for infrastructure and cloud technologies.
• Support the transition of new systems into operations through documentation, knowledge transfer and technical training.
• Take ownership of complex escalations, working with external vendors and consultants where required.
• Research and recommend technical solutions to address business and operational challenges.

Required experience:

• Extensive experience designing and delivering infrastructure within large, complex enterprise environments.
• Expert knowledge of virtualization and hyperconverged infrastructure, particularly Nutanix.
• Strong cloud architecture experience across Microsoft Azure and AWS.
• Experience designing IAM, landing zones and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Expert understanding of enterprise monitoring and the health management of mission-critical systems.
• Strong networking knowledge across routing and switching, including the ability to analyse packet traces.
• Expert understanding of encryption, infrastructure security and associated best practices.
• Good knowledge of NAS, SAN and virtualized storage technologies.
• Strong PowerShell and general Scripting capability.
• Experience defining cross-domain architectural standards and technology roadmaps.
• A successful track record of leading technical projects and influencing engineering teams.
• Strong vendor evaluation, stakeholder management and business-facing communication skills.

The successful candidate is likely to bring at least 15 years' experience in IT, including substantial infrastructure engineering and architecture experience. You must be equally comfortable setting technical direction, producing detailed designs and remaining involved in the implementation and troubleshooting of complex solutions.
