Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to play a critical role in designing, securing, and evolving a modern cloud and infrastructure environment within a professional services organisation.

Working closely with architecture and security stakeholders, this role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, ensuring cloud platforms remain secure, resilient, compliant, and aligned to business strategy. You'll take ownership of cloud infrastructure, security controls, automation, and disaster recovery while driving continual improvement across the estate.

Key Responsibilities Cloud & Infrastructure Engineering

  • Design, implement, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and high availability.

  • Administer and optimise Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.

  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform.

  • Design and test disaster recovery, backup, and failover solutions.

  • Monitor and optimise cloud resources for cost, performance, and reliability.

Security, Governance & Compliance

  • Implement cloud security controls, identity management, and least-privilege access models.

  • Maintain compliance with security frameworks and accreditation standards (eg Cyber Essentials).

  • Manage vulnerability remediation, patching, and penetration test findings.

  • Implement data governance and classification policies using tools such as Microsoft Purview.

Endpoint & Platform Management

  • Manage Intune, endpoint security, device compliance, and application deployment.

  • Enforce application control policies across the enterprise.

  • Support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Azure AD.

Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Act as an escalation point for complex incidents and service requests.

  • Collaborate with architects to minimise downtime and improve service continuity.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements.

  • Support out-of-hours work and participate in an on-call rota as required.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure architecture and services.

  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation.

  • Deep understanding of cloud security, IAM, and compliance frameworks.

  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and related SaaS platforms.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud, endpoint, and infrastructure environments.

  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (VPNs, Firewalls, load balancing).

  • Experience working within ITIL-aligned environments.

Desirable

  • Experience in legal or professional services environments.

  • Exposure to systems such as iManage, Intapp, Elite 3E, Litera, Mimecast, Tessian.

  • Experience supporting regulated or security-sensitive environments.
