We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer for a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract to join a leading professional services organisation. Reporting directly to the Infrastructure Platforms Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and optimising the existing LAN/WAN infrastructure, while also supporting office moves, changes, and ongoing infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructure using Cisco Campus Networking (9300 series) and Cisco Nexus switches.
• Configure, deploy, and maintain Palo Alto Prisma Access firewall policies.
• Administer and configure FortiGate Firewalls for advanced security and threat management.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
• Develop and enforce network security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Provide advanced technical support and escalate issues to 3rd party managed service providers where necessary.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and legal obligations, including SRA Standards and Principles.

Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of core networking fundamentals (Layer 2/3 technologies, BGP, OSPF, troubleshooting).
• Proven hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches.
• Working knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, Prisma Access, and SD-WAN.
• Experience with Azure networking and relevant Cisco/Azure certifications.
• 5+ years’ experience in a network engineering role.
• Proficiency with HLD/LLD documentation and ITIL practices.
• Cisco ISE expertise (essential): configuration, optimisation, and troubleshooting of authentication, authorisation, and accounting (AAA), including protocols such as RADIUS, TACACS+, and 802.1X.
• Cisco Wireless Controllers (essential): deep understanding of wireless protocols, LAN configurations, and Wi-Fi network support.
• FortiGate (desirable): experience with FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiManager; Fortinet certifications (NSE 4/5+) highly beneficial.
