Sales Manager – Fast-Growth IT Firm (Essex-based)

Location: Basildon (3 days in office per week)

Salary: Competitive base + uncapped commission (OTE £200k+)

The Opportunity

They are now looking for a senior sales professional who is ready to step into a pivotal leadership position — working directly alongside the Sales Director and helping shape the future of the sales function.

This is a newly created role that will be built around the strengths and experience of the person who joins. You’ll effectively act as the Sales Director’s right hand, managing day-to-day sales operations and enabling him to focus on strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a sales team – manage, mentor, and develop a growing team (currently two, expanding by at least three).
  • Account management – oversee some of the firm’s most valuable clients, maximising upsells and cross-sell opportunities (15% commission on all personal sales and managed accounts).
  • Sales structure & strategy – design and implement a scalable sales framework, including KPIs, commission models, and best practices to drive consistent performance.
  • Collaboration – work closely with leadership to align sales initiatives with wider business goals and ensure long-term success.

About You

We’re looking for someone entrepreneurial, hands-on, and ambitious — a natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

You’ll likely bring:

  • A proven background in IT sales — ideally within an MSP, VAR, or software solutions environment.
  • Strong people management skills, with the ability to mentor, coach, and drive team performance.
  • A commercial mindset, capable of spotting new opportunities and structuring deals effectively.
  • A collaborative and present leadership style — this role suits someone who enjoys being on the sales floor, engaging with the team and clients alike.

  • Competitive base salary with uncapped earnings (OTE £200k+ achievable).
