Overview
Our premium brand automotive client is seeking a highly skilled Mechatronics Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge robotics, automation, and tooling technologies within the automotive sector.

Responsibilities
As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will:
  • Design, analyze, modify, and integrate robotics, automation technologies, and processes related to equipment and tooling.
  • Develop, implement, and test preventative maintenance plans, as well as interim solutions for damaged or unsafe equipment and tooling.
  • Investigate and document engineering changes while controlling equipment and tooling configurations in line with standard operating procedures.
  • Recommend and implement equipment reliability improvements using reliability engineering principles.
  • Manage large projects or processes with limited oversight, while coaching and delegating work to junior professionals.
  • Address and resolve complex and challenging technical problems.
Qualifications
Essential:
  • Degree in Engineering or other STEM subjects.
  • Practical experience in building verification and validation rigs for formal approval/sign-off.
  • Proficiency in SysML and MATLAB/Simulink for Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience in network architecture design and communication networks.
  • Strong understanding of requirements definition and interface documentation for solution development and acceptance.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex issues across various functional commodities for testing.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex engineering principles to diverse audiences.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to engage in tasks across the System Engineering lifecycle.
  • Ability to challenge existing thinking constructively while building credibility and trust.
Desirable:
  • Degree in System or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Analytical skills to solve technical problems pragmatically.
  • Experience in building and managing relationships in complex stakeholder environments.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, TRM, CATIA Magic System of Systems (MSOSA).
  • Automotive industry experience, particularly with safety-critical systems.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Cucumber, Gherkin, and GitLab.
Education:
  • Minimum: Degree in Electronics or Systems Engineering.
  • Preferred: Experience in complex electronics rig builds.
Day-to-Day
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative solutions.
  • Build and test verification and validation rigs to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
  • Analyze and resolve technical challenges, ensuring the reliability and safety of equipment and tooling.
  • Document engineering changes and maintain configuration control.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
