Enterprise Architect

An outstanding educational institution is seeking a new Chief Enterprise Architect to join their team permanently.

 

We are partnering with a top education sector organization that is hiring a permanent Chief Architect role. They need a visionary, highly skilled systems leader to drive the planning and execution of scalable, secure, and modern solutions across their entire platform. This individual will function as a top-level technology strategist, guiding the team and collaborating with various departments to ensure the integrity of the architecture is maintained and aligned with all major business goals.

 

Role Details:

  • Job Title: Enterprise Architect
  • Work Location: Greater London Area (Hybrid)
  • Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 (Slight flex for right person)
  • Contract Type: Full-Time Employment
  • Reporting Structure: Reports to CIO
  • Working Hours: 35 hours per week standard
  • Anticipated Start: Immediate opening

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Create organization-wide IT design frameworks and documents to inform and direct leadership decisions.
  • Outline the long-term technical environment and craft technology roadmaps detailing the progression from the present setup to the desired future state.
  • Implement and run the organization's Architecture Policy and Oversight process.
  • Manage the comprehensive enterprise strategic blueprint and oversee its influence on individual projects and initiatives.
  • Identify necessary improvements and suggest effective operational shifts through enhancing technology, information handling procedures, team structure, and job roles.
  • Balance conflicting priorities like features, service reliability, financial efficiency, and necessary system management.
  • Provide mentorship to technical personnel on important choices regarding architecture, tooling, and data management strategies.
  • Ensure full adherence to security, data privacy, and all relevant statutory mandates.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear language for non-technical leadership

 

Critical Background & Expertise:

  • Experience creating and maintaining transition plans/roadmaps to guide the journey from the current system to the ideal future environment.
  • Proven ability to use architectural frameworks to genuinely influence alterations in the organizational structure, workflows, data management, business applications, and infrastructure.
  • Track record of building roadmaps for migrating software components to public cloud services.
  • Experience in supporting the transfer of major business platforms (to SaaS or cloud-hosted models).
  • Establishing governance, rules, and best practices for the selection of specific solution design elements.
  • Deep familiarity with data protection and privacy regulations, including GDPR and specific UK data laws, to ensure complete legal compliance.
