Head of IT Long-Term Contract (London / Hybrid)

Location: London (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished Head of IT to lead and deliver strategic IT initiatives for a leading organisation based in London. This long-term contract role offers the chance to shape IT infrastructure, oversee digital transformation, and ensure operational excellence across a multi-site, multi-system environment.

The successful candidate will take ownership of IT strategy , service delivery, and technology risk management , reporting directly to senior leadership. This role requires a proactive, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, outcomes-driven environment .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of a comprehensive IT roadmap , aligned with business goals.
• Oversee IT infrastructure, service delivery, support, and cybersecurity functions.
• Manage budgets, vendors, and contract negotiations .
• Deliver on critical projects including cloud migrations (AWS/Azure), ERP/CRM upgrades, and cybersecurity enhancements .
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001 , and internal security policies.
• Implement robust disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans (BCP) .
• Lead and support an internal IT team and external service providers.
• Drive process improvement using ITIL best practices to ensure high system availability and user satisfaction.
• Advise senior leadership on technology risks, innovation, and strategic investments .

8+ years experience in IT leadership roles (e.g., Head of IT, IT Director, Senior IT Manager).

Expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) , network/security architecture , and enterprise applications .

Strong background in cybersecurity, compliance , and risk management.

Proven delivery of digital transformation , infrastructure modernization, and change management initiatives.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and vendor management capabilities.

Knowledge of frameworks: ITIL, ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2 , etc.

Certifications preferred: CISSP, CISM, ITIL, TOGAF, PRINCE2 .

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Contract Length: 1224 months (with possible extension)
• Location: Central London (Hybrid: 3 days onsite)
• Interview Process: 1st stage video, 2nd stage onsite or remote panel
