Linux System Administrator
I am currently partnering with a successful and fast-growing SaaS provider that delivers a market-leading platform to the university sector. They are looking for a Linux SysAdmin to join their infrastructure team.
Job Title: Linux SysAdmin
Location: Remote First but (Must be able to attend the Bristol or Nottingham office up to 5 days a month)
Salary: £37,000 - £45,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (35 hours per week on a rostered shift pattern between 9 AM and 9 PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Deploying, automating, maintaining, and improving the backend operations of a highly scaled SaaS platform
- Incident Response: Juggling day-to-day monitoring, proactive infrastructure planning, and on-call incident response/management.
- Tooling & Automation: Building, maintaining, and documenting internal tools to support development and software implementation teams.
- Documentation: Writing detailed technical documentation and infrastructure schemas to maintain high operational standards

Essential Requirements
- Operating Systems: Strong Linux Sysadmin skills, specifically with Ubuntu or Debian flavors.
- Automation & Provisioning: Commercial experience with automated configuration management using Ansible.
- Scripting: Solid scripting skills in at least one language, such as Bash, Python, PHP, PowerShell, or Ruby.
- Networking & Security: A strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and security practices.
- Version Control: Professional experience using Git and GitHub.
- SaaS Monitoring: Experience monitoring cloud-based SaaS systems and writing clear technical documentation.
Desirable Requirements
- Virtualisation: Experience with VMWare, ideally including NSX.
- Cloud Architecture: Knowledge of managing redundancy and scaling in cloud deployment.
