Data Visualisation Lead (Power BI)

Job summary

Primary care 24 (PC24) is looking for a Data Visualisation Lead who will provide Data Visualisation expertise to lead the development, enhancement and continual improvement of Power BI reporting solutions. You will create new automated reporting products, maintain existing BAU dashboards and reports, and deliver reliable, insight-driven analytics that support operational and strategic decision-making. The role will work in close partnership with the Head of Business Intelligence to align reporting priorities with organisational objectives, whilst engaging with Arden & GEM CSU to coordinate data engineering, data warehouse development and data platform requirements. Through this collaborative approach, the role will ensure the effective translation of business requirements into scalable reporting solutions, maximising the value of organisational data assets and supporting the continuous development of the Business Intelligence function. Salary: £55,891.00 - £62,100.00 per annum (pro rata) DOE Department: Corporate BI Data Location: Wavertree Technology Park and home working Shifts: Operational hours Monday Friday 9am 5pm, days negotiable. Contract: Part time 18.75 hour contract, fixed term, until 31/03/2027

Main duties of the job

What will I be doing? Design, develop, test and deploy Power BI dashboards, reports and visualisations to meet business requirements. Maintain, enhance and automate existing reporting solutions to improve efficiency, reliability and user experience. Engage with operational, clinical and corporate stakeholders to capture, prioritise and refine reporting requirements. Lead the development, delivery and ongoing management of reporting outputs across key operational and workforce domains, including but not limited to Rotamaster, GP Appointments, Telephony, GP Registrations and Out of Hours services, ensuring reports are accurate, timely and aligned to business and performance reporting requirements. Liaise with Arden & GEM CSU data engineering and data warehouse teams to ensure reporting requirements are translated into scalable and sustainable data solutions. Implement processes to ensure the accuracy, consistency and integrity of datasets, metrics and reporting outputs. Promote and maintain reporting governance, data standards, security requirements and Power BI best practices. Develop KPI frameworks and performance reporting that provide actionable insights into operational and workforce performance. Translate complex business and operational requirements into technical specifications and reporting solutions. Produce and maintain reporting documentation, data dictionaries, report specifications and process guidance. Deliver ongoing Power BI training, coaching and knowledge-sharing sessions to support the development of self-service analytical capabilities across the wider team. Explore alternate options for PC24 hosting internal workspace management, deployment processes, report publishing, refresh schedules and access controls within the Power BI environment.
