Job summary

Ludham & Stalham Green Surgeries are recruiting for a qualified dispenser to work as part of their team for 25 hours per week.

Working in a busy, two-site GP surgery, the successful candidate will have responsibility for making sure patients receive a friendly, attentive and professional service.

Main duties of the job

You will accurately dispense and/or check prescriptions and champion dispensary standards. Duties will include labelling and dispensing of medications, ordering stock and stock control, general day to day housekeeping and administrative duties.

The practice is a friendly, rural, 3 partner training practice, with 3 additional salaried GPs. Located on the beautiful Norfolk Broads, a pleasant 25-minute drive from Norwich / Gt Yarmouth, the practice places a great importance on learning and development of every member of the team. They recognise that a well-trained, developed and motivated workforce, is essential to deliver quality clinical services.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential
  • Excellent clinical and medication knowledge;
  • Understanding and experience of working as a dispenser in GP practice setting;
  • The commitment to continue to learn new clinical skills and develop your career;
  • The confidence to work as part of a busy GP multi-disciplinary practice team and using your own initiative in decision making;
  • The ability to be adaptable and flexible in your approach;
  • Excellent patient facing inter-personal communication skills.

Qualifications

Essential
  • NVQ2 / BTEC in Dispensing / Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent with experience of working in a pharmacy/dispensary environment applying standard operating procedures.
