Our client is a world leader in the development, manufacture and supply of navigation and surveillance systems and have a fantastic opportunity for a Configuration Controller. The position will have sole responsibility for release and change control of technical data within the business ERP system. This role will also have the responsibility of creating and maintaining project configuration plans and participate in the sales bid process. As part of a growing Management Systems team, there is further scope to get involved with QHSE and data protection activities. Duties:

  • Administer the release, change control of technical data within the business ERP system
  • Coordinate the authorisation process.
  • Act as a focal point for matters relating to ERP design change requests, build state definitions, deviations and engineering part revisions.
  • Maintain technical descriptions within the ERP system part catalogue upon approval of alternative components.
  • Participate with the sales bid process (configuration and quality assurance aspects).
  • Create and maintain project configuration plans to meet customer requirements.
  • Generate and maintain Specifications of Technical Requirements and prepare data packs for use by suppliers.
  • Attend software release meetings and maintain ERP version control and the software repository.
  • Champion and improve configuration functionality within the ERP system, so there is no reliance on legacy bespoke data management tools.
  • Support to QMS audit program.
  • Identify and promote improvements for managing ERP data and controls.
  • Participate with system QHSE and data protection activities.

Skills:

  • Configuration Management qualifications would be preferable.
  • Experience in configuration management, preferably in a large company undertaking MOD / Defence type contracts.
  • Experience of working with ERP systems (IFS, SAP, etc.).
  • Fluent English (both verbal and written).
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Good organisation and communication skills.
  • Excellent document creation skills.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management system beneficial
  • Must hold a UK passport
