Service Engineer
Are you an experienced Service Engineer with a strong mechanical and electrical background?
This is a varied field-based role involving the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of industrial equipment at customer sites across the UK and occasionally overseas.
You will become a technical expert in the company's machinery, providing high-quality service and technical support while always representing the business professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission and configure machinery at customer sites.
- Carry out site acceptance testing and ensure equipment is fully operational.
- Provide customer demonstrations and operational training where required.
- Complete installation and commissioning documentation.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control system faults.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and minimize customer downtime.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support.
- Investigate recurring faults and recommend long-term solutions.
- Complete service reports, timesheets, expenses, RAMS and other required documentation.
- Record parts used, labour hours, expenses and equipment condition.
- Maintain vehicles, tools, test equipment and spare parts.
- Follow all company H&S procedures, customer site rules and relevant legislation.
About You
- Previous experience servicing, maintaining and repairing industrial or commercial equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- A sound understanding of hydraulic systems.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- A flexible approach to overnight stays and worldwide travel.
- A full UK driving license and valid passport.
- Competence with Microsoft Office.
Desirable Experience
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Experience with PLCs, control systems or automation.
- Electrical qualifications such as 18th Edition or City & Guilds.
