Role Description The Employability Skills & Career Development Trainer will deliver engaging, learner-centered training sessions focused on employability, life skills, and career readiness for diverse participant groups. This on-site role, based in Walsall, involves designing and adapting training materials, lesson plans, and activities to meet programme objectives and individual learner needs. The Trainer will facilitate workshops on communication, soft skills, interview preparation, CV development, and workplace expectations, while monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback and coaching. Responsibilities include collaborating with internal stakeholders and partners, maintaining accurate training records, and contributing to continuous improvement of training content and delivery. This is a contract position requiring regular on-site presence, with flexibility to work across different cohorts and schedules as programme needs evolve. Tentative start date is 14 September 2026 with a couple of on-site engagements with prospects prior to that.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Training & Development skills, including experience designing and delivering structured training programs or workshops.
- Candidates should possess effective Presentation Skills to facilitate interactive sessions, explain complex topics clearly, and engage diverse groups.
- Candidates should possess Life Skills and Soft Skills expertise, enabling practical coaching on resilience, teamwork, time management, and professional behavior.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written, to support clear instruction, feedback, and stakeholder collaboration.
- Experience delivering employability or career development programmes in education, community, or workforce settings is highly beneficial.
- Relevant qualifications in education, training, coaching, career guidance, or a related field (e.g., PTLLS/CTLLS, Level 3+ in Education and Training) are preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and confidence working with learners from varied backgrounds and abilities.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability in maintaining records and reports, and the ability to work independently within programme frameworks.
