We're looking for a Principal Data Architect & Data Modelling Consultant to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade data solutions across large-scale transformation programmes.
In these strategic and hands-on roles, you'll shape data architecture strategies, design best-practice data models, and enable modern, cloud-based ecosystems that unlock business insight and value. You'll collaborate with senior stakeholders, guide delivery teams, and play a pivotal role in advancing our clients' data maturity and innovation.
What You'll Do
- Lead agile consulting engagements focused on data architecture, modelling, and cloud transformation
- Define and implement scalable enterprise data strategies and modern platform designs
- Design and deliver conceptual, logical, and physical data models that drive alignment between technology and business vision
- Partner with engineers, domain experts, and business teams to translate requirements into intelligent data solutions
- Support data governance, metadata management, and standards enforcement across programmes
- Act as a subject matter expert, presenting technical concepts in a clear business context
- Mentor data professionals and contribute to the development of our data architecture and modelling capabilities
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data modelling, or enterprise data transformation
- Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-native data solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong understanding of data modelling practices (conceptual, logical, physical) and enterprise data management principles
- Hands-on experience with data modelling tools (e.g., Erwin, Sparx, PowerDesigner) and big data/cloud ecosystems (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, Spark)
- Solid grasp of data governance, metadata, and data quality frameworks
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills — able to communicate complex data concepts to both technical and business audiences
Bonus Points For
- Certifications in data or cloud architecture (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks)
- Experience with data lake design, large-scale data migrations, or regulatory data initiatives
- Familiarity with semantic modelling, ontologies, or graph data concepts (RDF, OWL, TTL)
- Exposure to Python or SQL for model design and validation
- Background in financial services, energy, or large-scale enterprise transformation
