Junior Java Developer (Glasgow)

An established financial services company seeking a Junior level Java Developer to join their onsite team in Glasgow . This role offers the chance to work on critical backend systems supporting key financial products and services.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java 11+, Spring Framework, Microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and launch new features.
• Ensure code quality, security, and application performance.
• Use version control tools like Git to manage your code.
• Bonus: Experience with cloud messaging APIs and push notifications.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong skills in Java 11+, JDK 17 (certified preferred), Spring Framework, and REST APIs.
• Experience with Oracle & PL/SQL backend development.
• Understanding of Core Java EE, EJBs, JPA, and JAX-RS web services.
• Familiarity with automation testing (Selenium/Cucumber) and Agile methodologies.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
