They’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help drive this next phase. You’ll lead a new squad focused on building scalable, event-driven backend services in Node.js, working alongside React, Python, and PHP engineers in a modern, cross-functional setup.

Expect real impact, from architecture decisions to hands-on coding, mentoring, and improving delivery practices. It’s a high-ownership role in a product-focused environment where engineering is central to the company’s growth.

This is a London-based hybrid role with 2 to 3 days a week in the office. The team is social and energetic, and the company offers a strong set of benefits, including complimentary breakfast and regular team events.

What you will bring:

  • Strong experience with Node.js and modern backend frameworks (Express or NestJS preferred)
  • Solid understanding of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Familiarity with PHP and TypeScript is a plus
  • Experience working in a cross-functional agile team
  • Exposure to CI/CD, microservices, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
  • Passion for clean, maintainable code and improving service performance
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical direction

What you will do:

  • Lead backend efforts across a squad, owning key services and collaborating with frontend and full-stack developers
  • Design and build scalable, event-driven backend systems
  • Guide architecture, service health, tech debt priorities and roadmap
  • Mentor backend developers and drive best practices in coding, testing, and deployment
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to ship high-quality features
  • Stay up to date with emerging tech and bring in modern patterns where it adds value
