• Salary: £75,000–£90,000 + 10% bonus + 10% share options
• Location: London (Hybrid – typically 1 day per week in office or client site)

We’re hiring a Senior AWS Platform Engineer to join a specialist cloud and platform engineering consultancy delivering secure, scalable AWS platforms for enterprise and public sector organisations.

This is a hands-on consulting role, working closely with client engineering teams to design and build scalable cloud platforms. The position suits engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, working across different environments, and contributing directly to customer delivery.

Engineers with a consultancy background or strong client-facing delivery experience are strongly preferred.

The Role

As a Senior AWS Platform Engineer, you will design and deliver modern AWS platform components while enabling teams to build and operate cloud-native applications more effectively.

You will work within multi-disciplinary delivery teams, contributing to platform architecture, building infrastructure as code, and improving CI/CD pipelines and operational capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and building secure, scalable AWS platform components
• Implementing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Building and improving CI/CD pipelines to support cloud-native delivery
• Supporting containerised workloads using Kubernetes (EKS)
• Working closely with application teams to enable cloud-native patterns
• Implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting for operational visibility
• Creating reusable templates, modules, and deployment patterns
• Contributing to the reliability, scalability, and security of cloud platforms
• Supporting onboarding of teams and workloads onto shared cloud platforms
• Mentoring engineers and sharing knowledge through reviews and documentation

Requirements

• Strong AWS platform engineering experience in production environments
• Terraform Infrastructure as Code (essential)
• Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Knowledge of AWS networking concepts (VPCs, connectivity, load balancing)
• Experience working with containerised workloads and Kubernetes (EKS)
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate with engineers and stakeholders
• Consultancy background or proven client-facing delivery experience
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance

Highly Desirable

• Experience delivering cloud migration, optimisation, or platform transformation projects
• Exposure to consulting environments working across multiple clients
• AWS certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate)
• Kubernetes certifications (e.g. CKA)
• Terraform certification
• Experience in public sector or regulated environments
