Lead IT Platform Manager | Permanent | Birmingham | £70,000 - £77,000 + Benefits

For the largest infrastructure project in Europe, we are recruiting a Lead Platform Manager within the Platforms and Operations function. Leading the management of IT Integration platform capabilities, this role will deliver, maintain and ensure the availability of IT integration and infrastructure and will have overview of supplier resources, which provide development and management services. This role is hybrid working with 3-days per week onsite in Birmingham

Main Duties:

  • Technical leadership and ownership for integration platforms - ensuring they support reliable connectivity between enterprise applications and platforms
  • Define and maintain integration strategy, architecture standards and patterns, ensuring consistency with API development, messaging and data movement
  • Oversee the operation and improvement of integration services and middleware platforms (API gateways, enterprise service bus, data platforms)
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure integration designs align with tech architecture
  • Lead the delivery and lifecycle management (end-to-end) of integration capabilities that support key enterprise platforms including ERP, and HCM
  • Lead provision of advice on integration patterns and how integration should be setup (point-to-point vs. integration platforms)
  • Ensure version-control, with robust operational support and incident management
  • Establish inventory / governance processes for integration design, development, and usage
  • Act as primary contact for integration-related technical issues and support onboarding of new applications and platforms
  • Collaborate with security, service, and data teams to ensure integration solutions meet data protection, access control and regulatory requirements

Person Specification:

  • Experience leading and delivering integration platforms in large, complex IT environments
  • Experience designing and overseeing technical integration solutions across multiple enterprise systems, using APIs, messaging, or data pipelines
  • Experience partnering with platform teams, solution architects, and suppliers
  • Experience of enterprise integration patterns, platforms and tools (APIs, ESB, messaging queues, event-driven architecture, ETL/ELT pipelines)
  • Experience of integration technology including Azure Integration Services, hybrid integration platforms, and middleware tools
  • Experience of delivery methodologies including Waterfall, Agile and Lean
  • Experience of security, governance, and data protection across secure API management
  • Knowledge of how ERP platforms interact through integration
