Job Role for the NPI Quality and Yield Engineer:
Leveraging your expertise to ensure a smooth transition from product development to full-scale production, enhancing design and manufacturing efficiency whilst ensuring the products quality is not compromised.
- Perform statistical analysis and generate detailed reports to identify data trends and areas requiring attention to address operational and product-related issues.
- Support short loop planning for early assessment of yield issues, aim to identify issue early to minimise waste and inefficiencies. Work closely with design and test engineers to pinpoint root cause and contain.
- Identify, participate in and/or lead high impact process control initiatives to achieve continuous improvements in quality, delivery, cost and production yield at fab partners, working collaboratively with design, test engineering, and supply teams.
- Oversee yield data procedures and outcome at foundry partners, ensure process control systems and measurement databases are available, reliable and error resistant. Provide support to address gaps and maintain system effectiveness as needed.
- Track schedule, cost, risk assessment, and yield of the improvement activities within all fab partners, to include materials, utilities, and labour.
- Develop/improve in-line measurement plans for process monitoring and lead yield improvement initiatives. Provide management with updates on activities, gather feedback for process enhancements, and share statistical data insights.
- Review operating conditions and recommend corrective actions, including developing and communicating best practices between suppliers, and internal teams. This also involves creating checklists, guidelines, "lessons learned," and historical documents to capture and record all yield improvement activities.
- Work closely with internal and external process teams to understand requirements and identify improvement opportunities; translate into project or minor enhancement specifications, complete with work estimates and forecasted benefits.
Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent work experience
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results.
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers.
- Understanding of CMOS technology and device physics.
- Proficient in quality and process improvement methodologies, including FMEA, MSA, GR&R, SPC, and problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 5-Why, Pareto analysis, and familiarity with standards like IATF 16949.
- Ability to evaluate and improve product quality and efficiency.
- Advanced skills in data analysis using tools such as JMP, Minitab, Python, or MATLAB.
