AWS DevOps Engineer
Fully Remote | Up to £70,000 per annum | 12 Month FTC - Dec/Jan Start
Our leading client is looking to hire an experienced DevOps Engineer on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will play a key part in supporting the delivery and operation of modern cloud-based solutions.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS, particularly across serverless services. You will work closely with software development teams to provide operational support, improve deployment processes, and ensure the smooth running of cloud-hosted applications. The role involves building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure using tools like Terraform, and contributing to the stability, security, and performance of production systems.
You should be comfortable collaborating in an agile environment, troubleshooting issues across the full stack, and applying DevOps best practices to enhance reliability, scalability, and developer productivity.
Experience required:
- Worked in DevOps, software development, or operational support.
- Confident using AWS services.
- Can build and manage CI/CD pipelines.
- Knows AWS serverless and container tools (e.g., Lambda, Fargate).
- Can create infrastructure using Terraform.
- Able to code in languages like .NET, C#, Node.js, React.js, or T-SQL.
- Familiar with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and YAML pipelines.
- Strong scripting and automation skills.
- Understands configuration management, test-driven development, and release processes.
- Experienced with agile ways of working and DevOps best practices.
- Know networking basics (AWS networking, HTTP, TLS, VPN, LAN/WAN).
- Aware of cloud security standards (Cyber Essentials, CIS18, ISO27001).
- Experienced with identity and access management (AWS IAM, Azure AD).
- Worked with databases like AWS RDS, DynamoDB, SQL Server, or MongoDB.
- Used monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, X-Ray, or Grafana.
