Test Automation Lead

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Hours: 35 hours per week, flexible between 8:00am and 6:00pm

Hybrid - 2 days a week on site in the Staines area

A well-established technology organisation is seeking a Test Automation Lead to take ownership of its automation strategy and ensure the quality and reliability of its software solutions. This is a key role within the testing and service delivery function, working across multiple projects in a collaborative Agile environment.

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and suites for both new development and ongoing maintenance.

• Collaborate closely with development, testing, DevOps, and business analysis teams to define test strategies and integrate automation into the delivery pipeline.

• Lead the planning and execution of end-to-end testing, ensuring coverage across APIs, functional flows, and integrations.

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members, promoting best practices in automated testing.

• Manage workload prioritisation within the automation team and support the delivery of high-quality releases on schedule.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation within the testing function.

• Document test procedures, report on progress, and escalate risks or issues where appropriate.

• 7-10 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on automation.

• Proficient in C# .NET and experienced in building and maintaining automation frameworks aligned with coding standards.

• Strong experience with API test automation and CI/CD tools, particularly Azure DevOps or similar platforms.

• Comfortable working across a range of testing types, including functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing support.

• Familiar with Agile methodologies and collaborative, cross-functional development environments.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.

• Strong organisational and planning abilities, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk identification and resolution.
