This role would suit a Data Lead/Manager , or a Senior Data Engineer who has taken the lead on projects and is ready to move into a people-focused position.

💡 What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be guiding a small team of talented Data Engineers, staying hands-on while helping to set direction, improve processes, and drive high-quality data delivery across the business.

You’ll get involved in:

  • Leading and developing a data engineering team
  • Managing workloads, releases, testing and change requests
  • Working closely with BI, technology and business teams
  • Enhancing data warehouse solutions and driving best practice
  • Supporting continuous improvement and innovation

This is a role where your ideas will be welcomed — and where you’ll have the freedom to make a real impact.

🧰 Tech Environment

Our client is looking for someone experienced with:

  • SQL
  • ETL tools
  • Power BI
  • Excel

If you enjoy working across end-to-end data pipelines and improving how data flows through an organisation, you’ll be right at home.

  • Strong experience in data engineering / data warehousing
  • Some leadership experience (formal or informal) — or the desire to take that next step
  • Great communication and stakeholder skills
  • A proactive, improvement-driven mindset
  • Ability to work onsite in near Leatherhead 2 days per week
  • Driving licence and car (essential) due to site location
