IT Procurement Senior Manager - 18 Month FTC

Procurement Heads are working with a hospitality client who are looking for an IT Procurement Senior Manager to own and lead the IT procurement and commercial strategy during large‐scale technology and organisational transformation. This role ensures technology sourcing, supplier partnerships, and contracts enable innovation, resilience, and long‐term value.

Location - Southampton (3 days per week)

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the IT procurement and commercial strategy aligned to IT and enterprise priorities
  • Act as the primary commercial counterpart to the CIO, enabling IT strategy through effective sourcing and supplier partnerships
  • Own enterprise‐level IT commercial risk (supplier concentration, contract exposure, value sustainability)
  • Lead high‐value, complex technology negotiations across software, cloud, managed services, and transformation programmes
  • Design and run best‐in‐class IT category management, driving cost, performance, and value outcomes
  • Own end‐to‐end commercial lifecycle management: demand, sourcing, contracting, governance, and renewal
  • Shape and manage the IT supplier ecosystem, building strategic partnerships that support innovation and operational resilience
  • Introduce and implement modern commercial models and market best practice
  • Resolve major supplier issues, disputes, and performance challenges
  • Build and lead a senior IT procurement team with future‐ready capability and clear succession

Decision Authority

  • Approve IT sourcing strategies, commercial models, and supplier selection approaches
  • Joint decision‐maker with IT leadership on strategic partnerships and major contract decisions
  • Escalation owner for material IT supplier disputes and commercial risk

Key Requirements:

  • Senior‐level experience leading IT procurement and commercial strategy in large, complex organisations
  • Proven track record managing high‐value, complex technology contracts and negotiations
  • Deep understanding of modern IT delivery models (cloud, managed services, large transformation programmes)
  • Experience building, leading, and developing high‐performing procurement teams
  • Strong ability to manage commercial risk and contractual disputes
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate commercial decisions into measurable IT and business outcomes
  • Confidence and credibility to challenge IT and senior stakeholders constructively
  • Ability to operate calmly and decisively in high‐pressure, change‐heavy environments
  • Executive‐level communication and stakeholder influence skills

Salary - up to £90,000 base salary + more
