IT Procurement & Supplier Performance Manager

Our client is a leading UK insurer undergoing a significant period of transformation following a major acquisition and integration programme. Now operating as one of the largest businesses in its sector, the organisation is focused on bringing together people, processes and suppliers to create a more scalable and commercially effective operating model.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Technology Procurement function at a pivotal stage in its evolution. Working closely with the Head of Technology Procurement, you will play a key role in shaping supplier strategy, driving commercial value and helping to build a best-in-class procurement capability.

Role & Responsibilities

Supporting a technology spend portfolio of multi £100million across hundreds of suppliers, you will take ownership of procurement and supplier management activity across Software, SaaS, Cloud, Cyber Security and Technology Professional Services.

  • Driving supplier consolidation and commercial optimisation activity as part of a large-scale integration programme
  • Leading complex technology negotiations to secure improved commercial outcomes and maximise value from strategic suppliers
  • Managing key supplier relationships and holding suppliers accountable for contractual commitments, service levels and performance standards
  • Delivering a robust Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework focused on performance improvement, innovation and value creation
  • Working closely with technology and business stakeholders to influence decision making and drive commercial outcomes
  • Supporting sourcing and procurement activity where new services or capabilities are required
  • Helping to define procurement processes, governance and ways of working as the function continues to mature and scale
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities, mitigating supplier risk and improving overall supplier performance

Skills & Experience

  • Proven Technology Procurement, IT Category Management or Supplier Management experience
  • Strong commercial and negotiation capability across software, SaaS, cloud, cyber and technology services categories
  • Experience managing strategic suppliers and driving performance against SLAs, KPIs and contractual obligations
  • Confidence challenging suppliers and stakeholders to achieve improved outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills within a complex organisation
  • Experience operating within a regulated environment, ideally Financial Services, Insurance or a similarly governed sector
  • A proactive, self-starting approach with the desire to build, improve and shape ways of working
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
