Application Support Engineer
Application Support Engineer We're working with a growing professional services organisation seeking an Application Support Engineer to join their IT team. This role is central to keeping business-critical systems running smoothly, supporting users, and helping deliver system improvements and upgrades. You can be based out of Nottingham, Birmingham or Peterborough.Key responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support for core applications including document, practice, and workflow management systems
- Diagnose and resolve issues, escalating where necessary
- Assist with system upgrades, patching, testing, and basic configuration tasks
- Support integrations, data checks, and user training
- Create user guides, documentation, and help resources
- Work closely with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues
- Ensure systems comply with security and governance standards
- Previous experience in application or systems support within professional services or a regulated environment
- Knowledge of practice management, document/case management, or time recording systems
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Methodical approach with good documentation skills
- Exposure to system integrations, testing/QA processes, or reporting/automation tools
- ITIL Foundation or equivalent
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, change-driven environment
- Office-based with some hybrid flexibility
- Occasional out-of-hours work may be required for upgrades or maintenance
