Senior Data Engineer (Contract) - Azure

I am looking for 2 x Senior Data Engineers for a 4-6 month contract. Working with a cutting-edge consultancy within the Financial Services (Wealth Management) space – we need a team to build an end-to-end data warehouse in Azure.

Expertise in Azure Blob storage, SQL database, ADF, Azure functions, Synapse needed.

Experience needed:

• Azure stack - Blob Storage, SQL Database, ADF, Synapse Analytics, and Azure Functions.
• Delivered end-to-end DWH (source integration, dimensional models, API layer) as a lead engineer.
• Designed and built Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion architecture in Azure.
• Made architectural decisions (source integration patterns, API design, dimensional models) and created ADRs.
• Dimensional modelling (Kimball star schemas), SCD Type 2, MDM (entity resolution, golden records).
• Batch + incremental ETL/ELT pipelines.
• File-based integration (CSV/XLS ingestion, error handling).
• Database replication (SQL Server snapshot/delta strategies).
• Partitioning strategies (date-based, size-based) for query optimisation.
• REST APIs for real-time data queries with response optimisation.
• Source-to-target validation, exception reporting, quality frameworks.
• Security implementation: Azure RBAC, managed identities, Key Vault, row-level security, PII handling, audit trails.
• DevOps best practices: Git, IaC (Terraform/ARM), CI/CD deployment.
