Mech & Elec Engineer - Pre-Construction - Remote

???? Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to join our Pre-Construction team on a contract basis, supporting early-stage project development through technical design reviews, construct-ability assessments, and RFI coordination. This role is critical in ensuring design integrity and smooth handover into construction.

???? Key Responsibilities

• Review mechanical and electrical design drawings for construct-ability, compliance, and coordination
• Provide technical input during design development and value engineering
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to resolve design issues
• Draft, track, and respond to RFIs during pre-construction
• Support bid evaluations and scope clarifications for M&E packages
• Assist in preparing technical documentation and design commentaries
• Participate in coordination meetings and clash detection reviews
• Ensure alignment with project specs, codes, and client requirements
• Maintain accurate records of design reviews and RFI responses

  ???? Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
  • Experience in pre-construction or design coordination within the construction sector
  • Strong understanding of building services and M&E systems
  • Familiarity with RFI workflows and design review processes
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with BIM tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) and document control systems
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

    • Experience in data centre, commercial, or infrastructure projects
    • Knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
    • Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset
