We are seeking a proactive and experienced Site Manager to oversee the on-site delivery of district heating projects across the southern UK. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in utilities, infrastructure, or construction, who thrives in a fast-paced, sustainability-focused environment.
????? Key Responsibilities
Site Operations & Delivery
- Manage day-to-day site activities across multiple district heating projects
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely and safe delivery
- Monitor site progress, quality, and compliance with design specifications and industry standards
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with CDM regulations and company SHEQ policies
- Support commissioning and handover processes, including O&M documentation
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (SHEQ)
- Act as a visible leader in promoting a safety-first culture on site
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits
- Ensure all incidents, near misses, and safety actions are reported and closed out
- Maintain compliance with all statutory and company H&S requirements
Communication & Coordination
- Liaise with clients, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and expectations
- Attend and lead site meetings, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation
- Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and senior leadership
? What We're Looking For
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years' experience in site management within district heating, utilities, or construction
- Strong understanding of CDM regulations, H&S legislation, and quality standards
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Competent in reading technical drawings and managing site documentation
Desirable
- Experience with JCT/ NEC contracts
- Knowledge of sustainable energy systems and low-carbon technologies
- SMSTS or equivalent site safety certification
