Account Manager (Public Sector) - IT Solutions

Our client is a well-established and highly successful company delivering IT solutions, support and innovation to its customers for over 20 years. They deliver MS based technology to the heart of customers infrastructures and help secure, manage and operate effective and cohesive solutions for and on behalf of their clients.

They have relationships with a number of the key financial institutions, insurance companies and legal companies in the city of London and also deliver support services to a wide range of customers in commerce, local government and police and NHS services.

They are currently looking for a strong Public Sector Account Manager ( Mix of existing accounts as well as winning new business)

Reporting to the CRO, you will be responsible for developing additional business opportunities, cross-selling and driving incremental revenues with new public sector customers and our existing public sector customer base across our sales team structure. Primarily, your focus will be to develop new opportunities across our successful sectors and work with some of our existing customers to identify new areas of opportunity. This will include an element of our standard services that have not been made aware to our clients, along with ad-hoc service requirements including migrations, cloud deployments or any new requirements coming from our customer base.

You will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to plan new campaigns to these customers and follow up directly with them on these individual opportunities

This role is ideally suited to someone who has a proven track record of dealing with the public sector clients and understands how to navigate their frameworks etc .

  • Previous experience in MS tools and products and services, including, but not limited to: MS365 Office suite, Intune, SharePoint online, Defender 3 and 5 suites, MS Purview, Power Platform and Teams
  • Any prior migration knowledge – on-premise installations to Cloud based
  • Veritas, CrowdStrike and Mimecast knowledge useful but not essential.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven Sales experience of 5 to 10 years in public sector sales with account management also required.
  • Experience in dealing with the public sector bidding frameworks, i.e. G-cloud etc and an intimate knowledge of the public sector buying cycles and how to compete on these bids.
  • Existing public sector knowledge and ability to drive proposition into this market and show our clients ability to deliver for this market.
  • Proven sales achievements in sales with actual sales against target, over-achievement in role.
