This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-growth, regulated environment. In this role, you will work closely with the General Counsel in the team and collaborate with the wider legal team in Europe.
What you will be doing :
- R&D research-related legal support: Provide legal guidance across the business, from Procurement and R&D to Marketing and Business Development
- General Contract support: Draft and review agreements, including MSAs, NDAs, IP licenses, and real estate contracts etc.
- Statutory Compliance Support: Data protection, anti-bribery, modern slavery, and export controls
- Conduct training sessions for non-legal staff on compliance issues and other legal risk areas
- Regional Collaboration: Work with the European legal team to support research centres across the U.K and EU
What we are looking for:
- U.K. Qualified Solicitor
- At least 2 years post SQE experience in the technology sector, either in a law firm or in-house at a technology company
- Export control knowledge a plus. Experience of working with ECJU and other government departments on export control and trade compliance issues
- Strong knowledge of UK commercial law, statutory compliance, IP, and data privacy.
- Ability to explain complex legal issues in plain, jargon-free English
- Good drafting skill
- Ability to build global relationships and work with diverse teams
- Excellent planning, attention to details
