Wireless Solutions Architect - Open RAN / 5G SA / vRAN

We're seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Wireless Solutions Architect to design and deliver cutting-edge wireless network solutions based on Open RAN, 5G Standalone (SA), and virtualised RAN (vRAN) technologies.

In this key role, you'll shape the architecture of next-generation networks, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and performance across multi-vendor, cloud-native environments. You'll lead the end-to-end design, validation, and integration of disaggregated RAN systems for both private and public 5G deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced 5G/Open RAN network architectures, including RU/DU/CU components.
• Define cloud-native, multi-vendor RAN solutions and ensure robust, secure integration across the RAN stack.
• Evaluate and optimise fronthaul, midhaul, and backhaul interfaces, particularly O-RAN Split 7.2x.
• Conduct RF planning, propagation modelling, and performance analysis to enhance coverage and capacity.
• Produce architecture documentation, design specifications, and technical recommendations to guide delivery teams.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and technology partners to align solutions with strategic objectives and industry standards.
• Lead technical discussions and provide expert input on system design, interoperability, and optimisation.

Expertise & Skills

• Deep knowledge of 5G SA, Open RAN, vRAN/xRAN, and cloud-native RAN architecture.
• Strong understanding of O-RAN interfaces (SMO, RIC, O1/O2/E2) and 5G Core components (gNodeB, AMF, SMF, UPF).
• Experience with Massive MIMO, beamforming, and DSS technologies.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, Python, Ansible, and automation frameworks.
• Experience with major vendors
• Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
