The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of complex projects and strategic initiatives that support Propel’s growth and transformation. These initiatives may include software development and technology implementations, alongside broader business change programmes such as operational improvements, regulatory initiatives and partner integrations.
You will be responsible for planning, executing and delivering projects on time, within scope and within budget while ensuring alignment with business objectives. The role requires strong experience managing projects within regulated environments, working across technical and business teams, and driving delivery through effective stakeholder engagement and governance.
Role responsibilities;
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive project plans covering workstreams, milestones, resources, timelines and dependencies.
- Lead the delivery of technology projects, software development initiatives and wider business change programmes.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across technology, product, operations and business functions.
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying risks, issues and dependencies and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate project governance including status reporting, steering committees and decision-making forums.
- Manage project budgets, track expenditure and ensure effective use of resources.
- Ensure appropriate project management frameworks, governance standards and delivery methodologies are followed.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, product owners and development teams to gather requirements and manage change requests.
- Support the successful implementation of change by ensuring clear communication, stakeholder alignment and smooth operational transition.
- Build strong working relationships across internal teams and external partners.
- Produce and maintain project documentation including project charters, delivery plans, status reports and post-implementation reviews.
Key skills required;
- Proven experience delivering technology projects and broader business change initiatives
- Experience working on software development or technology-enabled projects.
- Strong understanding of project management tools used for planning, tracking and reporting.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and Agile frameworks.
- Experience working in regulated environments is essential, asset finance or financial services is highly desirable

This role is remote based with occasional travel to Propel offices when required (Newport, Manchester and London)
